Because sometimes stitches tend to want to disappear behind the thread you just went over. My LNS/designer has taught me a special way to stitch and I do it now on everything. It is almost impossible for me to tell you in writing how to do it. She has some instructions written up that we have used to assist stitchers. Basically all your threads on the back should be either up and down or straight across, no diagonal lines.

I am going out of town in the morning for a week or I would go to the shop and get the written instructions and mail them to you. Stitching in the way I do now, the stitches are more square and don't end up having a little bit of pulled or diagonal look.

This is the best I can tell you right now. Stitching over one looks awesome, but can be a real pain to do. I don't know how all the bloggers that I read do so much of it.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance. I will be glad to help more when I return from vacation.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03129782982079230707noreply@blogger.com
