Chirp Chirp

It's 22 degrees F outside and I've got spring on my mind. This morning when we left the house to take Cuddle Bug to preschool it was 3 degrees! WOW! I couldn't believe it! I'm a desert dweller...this whole single digit thing is just not right! I can't even bring myself to check the temperature in Phoenix today. This is my third winter in St Louis and by far the coldest I've ever experienced! I miss you warm, sunny Arizona! I'll see you in July and you better have the Wigwam pool ready for me!

Anyway, back to spring. I'm not very good about making it a priority to finish-finish pieces I've stitched. 2010 is going to be different! I have a little drawer of projects that need "finishing" and I intend to finish each and every one by the end of the year! So here's the first:

Egg...cetera from The Cross Eyed Cricket finished as a small pillow

Tell me this doesn't make you feel a little springy too! I'm very pleased with how this turned out - especially considering that there was a bug crawling around by my feet for most of its construction - not the kind you squish of course, the kind you snuggle and love :)

I hope everyone is having a beautiful beginning of the week! Thanks for visiting and thank you for your wonderful comments and support.

I'm off to put some more stitches in Poinsettia House. I'm enjoying each stitch more than I can say! And those Piecemakers...oh my goodness I am in love with every pass through the fabric! It sounds like most of you know their magic already. Where have I been?? Vonna has opened my eyes!!!

Happy stitchy wishes to you all! And happy Tuesday!

Very nice finish-finish!

Sorry you are not liking the cold.
Those of us that have grown up in it aren't liking it any better than you are, believe me! At least you got up to 22. We made it to 6 today!

Beautiful finish Kim, your stitches are amazing!

So I guess I shouldn't complain about 29 degrees, here in CT huh? Sending cocoa, marshmallows and hugs :)

That Vonna, she is great isn't she? Where would we LHN lovers be without her as our leader :)

Hugs kiddo

I love your little finish, Kim. It really is just the perfect thing to look at when it's cold outside.
I also have a basket full with stitched pieces that need to be finished. Like you I plan to work on this basket until it's empty.

Awww...he is so sweet, Kim. You are inspiring me to pick up my little bird and finish him off. I think I may just make him into a teeny pillow with a beaded edge--not really sure yet...

I can hardly bear the cold this winter--it is not getting above 21 here in Pittsburgh ALL WEEK!!!

What a sweet finish Kellie! It's freezing here in SC too - not 3 degrees, but in the 20's (we're not used to that in the south). I love Piecemaker needles too. 28's are my favorite. I find they don't tarnish like JJ needles do.

P.S. KIM!! I'm so sorry I called you Kellie - I was just looking at her blog!! Duh! Please forgive me! :)

Kim, I just love this piece and your finishing is wonderful. I am going to add this to my wish list. And yes, it makes me wish for Spring - sadly, winter has just begun.

Enjoy your week.

Your little pillow turned out so wonderfully! That little birdie is darling and does look spring-y.

Guess we'll all stay in and stay warm since it's just gonna get colder. So much for global warming...we've been colder than usual in these parts for most of 2009 and 2010 is starting off that way :)

Minn. is sooooo cold.
Good luck on your finishes I am doing the same this year, only I cannot start a new project until I get three things into finish zone.
